Beginner level. 椅子Chair。 Chair. Hello everyone. I'm Shun, a Japanese teacher. How are you? Yes. Today's topic is chairs. Have you ever thought about chairs? Well, there aren't any, are there? But I think everyone uses chairs every day. There are various types of chairs, aren't there? Chairs to sit on when eating, chairs to sit on when working, chairs to sit on when relaxing. Well, sofas, I mean. But there are various ones, aren't there? I think it's interesting when you think about it. I think many people who work from home are particular about their chairs. But when working or playing games, chairs are really important, aren't they? I had never bought a chair before, but I bought one for work. But I was surprised to see all kinds of chairs. There really were many different types of chairs. Good chairs don't make your back or shoulders hurt even after sitting for a long time, right? I was surprised when I bought a chair for work for the first time. I thought it's better to have a really good chair if you work at home. There are many hard chairs for eating meals, right? Why do you think that is? Is it because the design is pretty? Restaurant chairs are also often hard, right? Also, these chairs are at a 90-degree angle. Yeah. I really think they're different from work chairs. Probably, if you keep working in a dining chair for a long time, your back will hurt. I used to do everything in the same chair. I can't imagine that now. Yeah. What kind of chair do you sit in when you relax? I think most people relax on a sofa. I have a sofa in my apartment too. But because my apartment is small, I couldn't buy a big sofa. But if you have a large sofa, you can really relax, right? Yeah. Sometimes sofas are more comfortable than beds, aren't they? Yes. But do you know? Japanese people sometimes don't sit on the sofa even if they have one. Japanese people often sit on the floor. So, when relaxing at home with friends, they don't sit on the sofa; they lean against it and sit on the floor. Yes, it's really interesting, isn't it? Because they're used to sitting on the floor, they sit on the floor even if there's a sofa. I often sit on a sofa, but I also sit on the floor. But when sitting on the floor, you don't need a chair, so maybe it's really minimal and fine. I also sometimes sit on the floor and work. Maybe because I'm Japanese, sitting on the floor from time to time feels a bit calming. In your country, do you sit on the floor? How about it?
